About "Tenchi Muyo In Love"

Upon it's release in the U.S. in 1994, Tenchi Muyo became one of the most popular and critically-acclaimed Japanese animation series available. Tenchi Muyo garnered awards at science fiction and Japanese animation conventions and was hailed as "one of the most clever and side-splittingly hilarious series available today," by Flux Magazine.

Tenchi Muyo in Love is a dramatic tale of the literally star crossed love between Tenchi's alien mother and human father. Tenchi is forced to go back in time to save his parents from an alien threat which could destroy not only them, but all of humanity. The story is set in 1970's Tokyo, giving it a wonderfully exotic retro background.

Writing a song for this movie gave me the opportunity to reflect the strongest source of universal, never-ending love: the family. Giving and receiving, a boundless flow of energy, strengthens the spirit in the ever present fight against evil. The content of the film helped me to understand the micro-cosmos of relations and light, and ultimately to write "Alchemy of Love."

"Sometimes in life one can experience unexpected synchronicity and harmony of events". - C. Franke -

When I wrote the score on "Tenchi Muyo in Love", I felt this type of special circumstances. I was very impresses and highly inspired by the producers Mr. Maki and Mr. Satani. They gave me the most helpful support and guidance.
