About MARK SNOW:
The score for DISTURBING BEHAVIOR is but one of
many triumphs for Juilliard-trained composer and Emmy nominee MARK SNOW. Like a shape-
shifting creature from the X-FILES, the television series from which his theme has become a
smash worldwide, Snow has celebrated the unexpected throughout his career. His work has
encompassed lush orchestral scoring, state-of-the-art electronics, pop album producing,
classical performance and co-founding the legendary New York Rock 'n' Roll Ensemble.
A native of Brooklyn, Snow (born in 1946) may have inherited some musical talents from this
father, a professional percussionist and Broadway drummer
and his mother, a kindergarten teacher who taught music and
played a mean stride piano. Snow began piano studies at age 10,
then mastered both the drums and oboe. Discovering a passion
for baroque and renaissance music, he began performing
the oboe at concerts and local events.
Snow's musical studies continued at New York's High School of
Music and Art, where he pursued composing. He also made
the acquaintance of another teen with a passion for all kinds
of music: Michael Kamen. The two became roommates when they
went on to Juilliard, where Snow studied from 1964 to 1968
alo ng with contemporaries Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zucherman.
Snow's 70-plus television movies and miniseries include SOMETHING ABOUT AMELIA (Ted Danson
and Glenn Close), THE OLDEST LIVING CONFEDERATE WIDOW TELLS ALL, THE BOY IN THE
PLASTIC BUBBLE (John Travolta), CHILDREN OF THE DUST, HBO's critically acclaimed VIETNAM
WAR STORIES, MURDER ORDAINED (Keith Carradine and JoBeth Williams), IN THE LINE OF DUTY:
SIEGE AT WACO, A WOMAN SCORNED: THE BETTY BRODERICK STORY (Meredith Baxter)
and most recently, TNT's THE DAY LINCOLN WAS SHOT (Rob Morrow and Lance Henriksen).
His feature film work includes 1995's BORN TO BE WILD, CAROLINE AT MIDNIGHT, COLD DOG SOUP
produced by George Harrison's Handmade Films, ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS and X-FILES: FIGHT
THE FUTURE. In addition to the X-FILES theme, he is also known for his themes for the
TV series HART TO HART, CRAZY LIKE A FOX and MILLENNIUM.

His ability to always know how much or how little has

My own career began in music with dreams of doing
what Mark does to perfection.
